One in four Eurostar trains cancelled due to sabotage on French railways

PARIS: About 25 percent of trains on the Eurostar network, which includes routes between Paris and London, were cancelled on Friday due to widespread sabotage of France’s high-speed train system, the company said.

Eurostar said cancellations are expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, Eurostar trains departing from and arriving in Paris will run on regular lines rather than high-speed lines.

This change will increase the journey time from Paris to London by 90 minutes, taking it to around 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The company expects services to return to normal on Monday morning.

Eurostar operates routes connecting the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
