United Kingdom – State students get passport to travel to The Union

More than 30 students from the State Education Network received their passports for an exchange experience in the United Kingdom last Monday (22). They will leave at the end of August and are part of a group of 100 students participating in the Conexão Mundo programme and will travel to England, Scotland and Wales.

Of the total duration of the three-month stay abroad, 40 young people will study at regular foreign secondary schools and 60 young people will follow vocational training related to their respective fields of study within vocational education.

Arthur Domingos, 16, a 2nd grade high school student at Escola Cidadã Integral Técnica (Ecit) Erenice Cavalcante Fidelis, says he has been studying for more than a month for the program’s entrance exam. “This is my first time abroad. I am very excited and nervous about it, but it will be an incredible experience,” says the young man, who is traveling with four other schoolmates who have been recognized by the initiative.

“This trip will open my perspective, the way I see the world and people, and will make me more open to learning new things,” she estimates. In total, the 2024/2025 edition of Conexão Mundo will send 400 students to English-speaking, Spanish-speaking and Chinese-speaking countries.
