Donnarumma tipped as Ederson replacement at Man City

Manchester City are interested in Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma, as Pep Guardiola sees the Azzurri captain as a potential replacement for Ederson.

Reliable Italian sources, Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta, report that City are interested in Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma.

La Gazzetta dello Sport was the first to report it on Monday, along with other English media, and Sky Sport Italia confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.

According to Gazzetta, Donnarumma is leaning towards a move to City. His contract in Paris expires in June 2026, but talks over a new deal have stalled, not to mention the fact that the Ligue 1 giants have also signed another goalkeeper, Matvei Safonov, who could rival Gigio for a starting spot in 2024-25.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Donarumma is one of the goalkeepers Guardiola has mentioned as a possible replacement for Ederson, who could move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

Italy captain Donnarumma has conceded 112 goals in 113 games for PSG.

In the summer of 2021, he left Milan for the Ligue 1 club on a free transfer.
