Danish Football: Kasper Hjulmand steps down as Denmark coach | IceNews

Kasper Hjulmand has decided to step down as coach of the Danish men’s national team following the country’s outcome at the 2024 European Football Championship.

Peter Moller, the Danish Football Association’s director of football, assessed Denmark’s performance in the championship. Both Moller and Hjulmand concluded that it was necessary to change the leadership.

Hjulmand expressed his deep connection with the Danish fans and was grateful for everything he was able to achieve.

“It has been an incredible honor and privilege to coach our national team for four years,” Hjulmand explains. “I have given everything to achieve success and get the people behind the team.”

Morten Wieghorst has been appointed as the new Denmark national coach on an interim basis until 2025.
