German women the team to beat in Spain

All four teams in the women’s competition know each other well. Last month they met in Asia during the 2024 IHF Women’s Beach Handball World Championship in China.

Winner and European and World Champion Germany is the team to beat in Cadiz, while numbers four, five and six (Denmark, Spain and Portugal) will want to beat Alexander Novakovic’s team in China.

China 2024 silver medallists Denmark hope to win first ever Global Tour stage

The men’s competition also includes replays of China 2024, with World Cup runners-up Denmark taking on Spain again, following their 2-0 (25:16, 23:22) win in last month’s main round.

Portugal will play Germany for the third time in three months, after losing 0-2 (18:25, 12:17) in the main round but then winning 2-0 (25:24, 20:18) to win bronze at the World Cup.

The Germans also faced Spain at the 2024 World Cup in China, where they defeated them 2-1 (27:20, 26:27, 9:8) in the quarter-finals. They then lost their semi-final 0-2 (18:25, 20:21) to Denmark, another team heading to Cádiz.
