Uzbekistan’s tourism potential presented in Vienna

In the capital of Austria, at the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a presentation was held on the tourist potential of our country, in which representatives of politics, the public, business, creative intelligentsia and the media from Austria and Slovakia took part.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, told the guests about the modern development of the tourism sector in our country, its role in the economy, the rich heritage and historical monuments of our country included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, hotel and transport infrastructure, and the country’s place in international rankings.

The Ambassador of Austria to Uzbekistan, residing in Vienna, Matthias Radostich, expressed in his speech his great appreciation for the comprehensive reforms carried out in all areas in our country, noting that the world community recognizes the results of the reforms.

He noted that Uzbekistan was recently elected as a member of the UN Human Rights Committee for 2025-2028 and the UN Economic and Social Council for 2025-2027. He stressed that holding the 2025 session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand for the first time in the past 40 years outside Paris is a worthy assessment of Uzbekistan’s work in the field of tourism development.

It was noted that there are great prospects in this area as Uzbekistan is a hospitable and safe country for foreign tourists.

Tour operator of the Austrian travel company “lass uns reisen” Kalya Heine spoke about the ancient cities of our country – Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.

The project manager of the Austrian company dreiD.at Filmproduction, Bruno Baumann, announced the start of work on a documentary film about the nature of our country and its unique fauna and flora.

As part of the event, a table was set and national Uzbek dishes were served for the guests visiting the embassy.

During the presentation, the participants also discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism, the establishment of air links between the cities of the two countries, the participation of Uzbekistan with national stands at international tourism fairs in Austria and the regular holding of such presentations.
