According to reports in Romania, Ianis Hagi has found his new club and a permanent move to Italian giants Fiorentina is on the agenda.

The playmaker is finished at Rangers as manager Philippe Clement is no longer interested in his services at Ibrox, while the player himself has instructed his agent to say the same thing, namely that he is also done with Govan.

According to those Romanian media, Hagi has reportedly agreed on a salary of £20,000 per week in Serie A, and the clubs have now met to agree on a price. Rangers are said to want £3 million, which is what they paid for him.

And now both his father and his agent, and also his buddy, have more or less (cryptically) confirmed:

“And if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you. I don’t think you should talk to me, Ianis. So you should talk to him, maybe starting tomorrow.”

That friend is Gică Popescu, another legendary Romanian footballer, now coach of the Romanian team Farul and a good friend of the Hagi family.

The hint is of course ‘maybe from tomorrow’, because at that point there might be something to say.

Hagi’s Rangers career has been going well, the club has no interest in him and he has not returned to Glasgow after the Euros, although that does not seem to be the intention.

Hopefully the price can be settled quickly and Rangers and Ianis Hagi can part ways for good.
