Aston Villa ‘targeting’ eye-catching bid for Atletico and Portuguese striker 👀

Aston Villa are eyeing a high-profile move for Joao Felix after agreeing the sale of their record signing Moussa Diaby to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad for £50.5million.

That’s according to The Guardian. According to them, Félix is one of the players who are eligible as the club prepares for its first Champions League campaign in more than 40 years.

The 24-year-old joined Atlético de Madrid from Benfica in 2019 for a staggering €126 million (£106 million) as a teenager, but has spent the past two seasons on loan, first at Chelsea and then at Barcelona.

He scored 10 goals in 44 games for Barça, but there appears to be no interest in making the deal permanent.

Villa have been one of the busiest clubs of the transfer window so far, with several players joining and leaving.

Ian Maatsen, Ross Barkley, Samuel Iling-Junior, Enzo Barrenechea, Jaden Philogene and Lewis Dobbin have already arrived and a £50million deal for Everton’s Amadou Onana is also reportedly close to completion.
