Laliga Studios, a partnership between Banijay Iberia and Spain’s top football division, has signed a deal with Little Spain, the production company of popular Spanish artist C Tangana, to develop a fictional series set in the La Liga universe. It will be the first drama production developed using La Liga IP and, according to the companies, the first to carry “the official seal of approval from a competition of this size and scope.”

In a press release, Little Spain provided some early details about the project: “The goal is to create a story set in the context of Spanish professional football and from the idiosyncrasies of La Liga teams, where football, culture and life come together.
