Russian offensive towards Pokrovsk continues despite heavy losses

Despite high losses, the Russian aggressors continue their offensive towards Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, the Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Monday, July 22.

“I am working on the hottest parts of the Eastern Front. The enemy, despite a fairly high level of losses, continues to advance towards Pokrovsk,” he noted.

According to him, heavy fighting is taking place in Krasnohorivka, but also in the areas of Prohres, Zalizne, Pivnichne and Chasiv Yar.

“What can and should we do to stop the advance of a numerically superior enemy? The answer is clear: effective firepower against the enemy’s main forces and reserves at long ranges, comprehensive damage to the enemy’s front line, maintaining well-prepared defensive positions and lines, and maximizing the effectiveness of all weapons and ammunition, especially combat drones, where we have an advantage. In addition, mastering new methods of destroying the enemy’s reconnaissance drones under conditions of a complete shortage of short-range surface-to-air missiles, using only electronic warfare (EW) and FPV drones,” he noted.
