Cyprus contributes €44 million to hosting Ukrainians – Famagusta Gazette

According to reports, the cost of hosting Ukrainian citizens who have sought refuge in Cyprus due to the war between Russia and Ukraine amounts to more than 44 million euros.

The newspaper Phileleftheros reports that the government in Nicosia has spent a total of 44,156,528 euros for the period 2022-2023 to house Ukrainian citizens.

The newspaper stressed that most of the money was paid by the Ministry of Tourism to hotels to accommodate the Ukrainians. The EU’s financial contribution for the two-year period amounted to 6 million euros.
