VIDEO: Sam Morsy scores winning goal for Ipswich against Shakhtar in pre-season

Egypt international Sam Morsy scored the winning goal for Ipswich Town in their victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Villach, Austria.

Morsy is on course to become the 12th Egyptian to play in the Premier League after captaining Ipswich Town to historic promotion last season.

The Tractor Boys are already busy recruiting players for the new season, signing five new players, led by Omari Hutchinson and Man City’s star Liam Delap.

In their first pre-season friendly, the club faced Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in Villach, Austria. Kieran Mckenna’s men emerged victorious, thanks to a goal from Sam Morsy.

The goal came in the 27th minute from a powerful shot from Morsy just outside the penalty area, which was enough for Ipswich to secure victory.

The Egyptian captain played most of the match until he was replaced by youngster Finley Barbrook in the 75th minute.
