The keeper came on at half-time and impressed with his play, appearing to be more than comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Although it is still early days, the 22-year-old already appears to be a smart signing for Celtic who could seamlessly take over the goalkeeping position from Kasper Schmeichel in a year or two.

Sinisalo joined the Scottish champions from Aston Villa for £1m, having been with the English Premier League club since he was 16.

The Finn enjoyed a couple of loan spells away from Birmingham before deciding to make a permanent move this summer. When he did, he sought some advice from Villa captain John McGinn.

Sinisalo revealed that the Scottish midfielder had encouraged him to move to Celtic.

“I’ve spoken to him a lot about the move to Scotland,” he said (RecordSport).

“John told me to take this opportunity. He gave us a little bit of advice, but I won’t tell you!”

As the pre-season progresses, we will likely see more of Sinisalo.

Scott Bain started against DC, but the Finnish goalkeeper could make his first start against Man City in North Carolina in midweek.
