The run-up to October 7: Hamas’ hatred and corruption

The first Shabbat in the month of October, which also happened to be a Jewish holiday, turned into a horrific attack on the Jewish homeland. This has happened not once in history, but twice, on this particular Shabbat.

The first time was in 1973, when a coalition of Arab countries attacked Israel on Yom Kippur. Exactly 50 years later, on Simchat Torah 2023, it happened again, when Hamas-ISIS and Islamic Jihad breached the fence, invaded Israel and brutally committed the largest massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

In the weeks leading up to Sukkot 2023, I felt that something was coming, that there was something evil in the atmosphere. I remember talking about this with family members and friends, and also when I met a group of people from Denmark.

I had no idea that just three days later, Israel would change forever as I was left in a state of constant trauma and pain from Hamas’s brutal attack on October 7.

The area known as the Gaza Strip was once inhabited by the Jewish people. It was transformed from a beautiful and prosperous piece of land that was rightfully part of Israel after it was liberated from Egyptian occupation, into an oppressive pit of horror and violence as Israel was pressured by the US government and the UN to “give land for peace,” and every Jew was forcibly expelled from Gaza in 2005.

Even Jewish graves were dug up and removed when Gaza was handed over to the Palestinians. Instead of flourishing from the industries and farms that Israel had given them, the Palestinians destroyed the greenhouses and farmland.

Now they had their pseudo-‘Palestinian state’ to live ‘happily ever after’.

But it was not a fairytale ending. Hamas quickly seized power, turned Gaza into the world’s largest terror nest, and began attacking Israel with thousands of rockets and sending terrorists to carry out terror attacks.

Institutional Jew-hatred

When I lived in Israel, I saw civilians in Gaza rioting at the border fence between Israel and Israeli territory, and flying balloons and kites to set fire to thousands of acres of land.

Thousands of tires were burned in Gaza near the fence. The heavy smoke nearly suffocated Israelis living near the fence and caused significant environmental damage.

Every summer in Gaza, there were about 50,000 children in full-fledged military training camps training as soldiers, learning how to attack Israel and kill Jewish people to “liberate” Palestine. I’m sure you’ve heard them chant their slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be (Jewish) free!”

The hatred, propaganda and lies against Israel is also what is taught in UNWRA schools in Gaza. It is child abuse, but that is their mentality and belief: that their destiny is to destroy Israel.

For example, Palestinians in Gaza say “thank you” to Israel for treating sick Gazan children in Israeli hospitals and providing them with the best possible care. In fact, some of the Israeli victims who were brutally murdered and abducted on October 7 used to drive sick Gazan children to Israeli hospitals for treatment. Did you know?

Did you know that thousands of people living in Gaza were working in Israel and making a good living for their families? However, many of these people were collecting information about the various kibbutzim and bringing it back as intelligence so that Hamas would have detailed maps of the communities they had slaughtered.

Before thousands of rockets were fired into Israel over the past nine months since the war began, Hamas had already fired more than 30,000 rockets into Israeli population centers over the years in an attempt to kill as many Israeli civilians as possible.

Every time terrorist attacks occurred, Gazans cheered loudly and celebrated in the streets when news broke that another Jewish child had been brutally murdered. Children and adults in Gaza would hand out candy to celebrate the murder of innocent Israeli civilians.

Gaza was never an open-air prison; they have a border with Egypt. But Egypt keeps it closed most of the time, while Hamas smuggled luxury cars, weapons and other goods through a vast network of tunnels between Gaza and Egypt.

Did you know that every day hundreds of trucks with equipment, fuel, food and everything they need came to them in the Gaza Strip and that Israel provided Gaza with drinking water and electricity?

As if that wasn’t enough, Israeli doctors saved the life of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar when he was serving a life sentence in 1988 for the kidnapping and murder of two Israeli soldiers.

This evil terrorist survived a brain tumor, thanks to surgery performed by Israeli doctors in an Israeli hospital. I find this hard to understand. Sadly, he was released after only 24 years in prison as part of the prisoner exchange for captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, and became the current leader of Hamas who planned the horrific terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th.

Did you know that the multi-millionaire Hamas leadership had family members who were treated in Israeli hospitals? There is a progression in all of these puzzle pieces that led to October 7, 2023. So, let me summarize this for you:

The reason the PA authorities have not held elections for almost 20 years is because Hamas would win an overwhelming victory and seize power in the biblical heartland. That would be an unprecedented disaster for Israel.

Instead of building a good life when they got their hands on this beautiful piece of land, the Gaza Strip, their hatred for the Jewish people only grew. They turned the Strip into a terrorist nest by building a huge tunnel system under Gaza.

Hamas then filled Gaza with tons of military and technical equipment, thousands of weapons, rockets and missiles, with means of production coming from Iran through the huge tunnels between Gaza and Egypt. In addition, Hamas terrorists nested in UNRWA and other UN worksites, in hospitals, clinics, daycare centers and mosques. After years of training to attack Israel, they finally launched a horrific attack on Israel on October 7.

How can governments around the world and the mainstream media have the conscience to simply trust these monsters and spread the lies of this hideous terror organization, when Hamas is in charge of everything in Gaza, including their “Ministry of Health”, and they have just committed the worst atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust and swear they will do so again and again.

Hamas is a multi-billion dollar terror machine. It has billions of dollars in bank accounts around the world and millions in cash stolen through deliberate aid. Money also entered Gaza in suitcases from Qatar, and in the form of funds collected from terrorists and terrorist supporters for Hamas around the world, and from its mother ship, Iran.

IDF spokesman R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari recently said: “Iran finances, arms and directs its terror proxies in their attacks on Israel and the rest of the world. We will not allow Iran and its proxies to terrorize our citizens, and we will continue to do everything we can to protect Israel’s people and borders.”

The Anti-Defamation League has filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York on behalf of the victims of the October 7 attack against Iran, Syria and North Korea. The court accuses the countries of financing and arming Hamas, enabling it to carry out the attack.

Evil is called good and the Palestinians are portrayed as oppressed victims by the “Apartheid Zionists” who allegedly have nothing better to do than oppress and hurt the Palestinian people.

It is this precise mentality that set the stage for October 7, with the world largely sympathizing with and supporting Hamas and blaming Israel for its “Nazi” behavior toward the Palestinians.
