Max Wober spotted in Leeds United tracksuit again after Daniel Farke comments about defender

Like Brenden Aaronson, Max Wober looks set to rejoin the Leeds United squad for the 2024-25 season. However, he has yet to be spotted at Elland Road following his performances at Euro 2024.

However, the futures of all eight players using Victor Orta’s loan clause appear to be settled, with Marc Roca and Diego Llorente having joined Real Betis permanently after Robin Koch moved to Frankfurt on a free transfer.

Luis Sinisterra has left for Bournemouth permanently, while Jack Harrison has been loaned to Everton for a second season. Rasmus Kristensen has been reunited with Koch in Frankfurt in a move that has been completed quickly.

The Dane will be hoping for more luck in Germany than he had at Roma alongside Llorente. That leaves Aaronson and Wober, with American star Aaronson confirming he will feature for Leeds in 2024-25.

Max Wober spotted in Leeds tracksuit for the first time

Wober, 26, only joined Leeds in January 2023 but left after making 20 appearances and suffering relegation, angering Leeds fans, especially as Wober was expected to stay at Elland Road last season.

But as soon as Gladbach called, he was gone. Wober cited his need to play top-level football to cement his place in Austria’s Euro 2024 squad, which helped when Ralf Rangnick’s team impressed in Germany.

However, Leeds’ asking price proved too high for Wober, even as the Whites lowered their demands. He has now been spotted in Leeds training gear as the players board a flight to Germany this morning.

What Daniel Farke said about Wober after the win over Harrogate

Aaronson was present on Friday but Wober was not, suggesting that Farke may not consider Wober a Leeds player for next season, but that is clearly not the case.

Perhaps Aaronson’s lack of playing time at the Copa America was the reason he returned ahead of Wober, who played a key role in Austria’s climb to the last 16 at Euro 2024. Farke spoke about Wober after the win over Harrogate.

He said: “We’re getting the lads back with Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober. Max will arrive tomorrow and start testing. Hopefully he’ll be with us in the first team from Sunday. It’s important to have these lads back.”
