Belgium: Onyedika’s Club Brugge starts new season with defeat

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika started the new season disappointingly: Club Brugge lost 2-1 to Union St. Gilloise in the Belgian Super Cup.

The Super Cup heralds the new competition season in Belgium, which starts next weekend.

Onyedika started the exciting match from the bench.

The 23-year-old replaced Casper Nielsen four minutes before the hour mark.

Five minutes before half time, Cameron Puertas put Club Brugge ahead with a penalty, while Fedde Laysen equalised two minutes after half time.

Christos Tzolis reduced the deficit for Club Brugge eleven minutes before the end.
