Kerala boy infected with Nipah virus dies of cardiac arrest, says Health Minister Veena George

The 14-year-old boy from Malappuram in Kerala, who was being treated here for Nipah infection, died on Sunday, state Health Minister Veena George said.

George said the boy from Pandikkad suffered a cardiac arrest at 10.50am on Sunday morning (July 21) and attempts to resuscitate him failed.

“He was on a ventilator. His urine output was reduced this morning. After cardiac arrest, resuscitation attempts failed and he passed away at 11:30,” said George.
