Coach Erik ten Hag is pleased with Manchester United’s drive on the transfer market. The club already brought in defender Leny Yoro and forward Joshua Zirkzee this summer. Tens of millions were paid for both players.

“It’s really good to see that we’re moving forward, we’re being very proactive,” Ten Hag told English media. “The management are doing a great job and this is how we want to operate as United.”

Yoro is said to have attracted the interest of several top European clubs and Zirkzee was also in the market. However, the new players opted for the number 8 shirt from last season in the Premier League. Matthijs de Ligt has also been linked to United for some time.

“We are very ambitious and you have to keep going to be ready for next season,” Ten Hag said. “The sooner you have signed the players, the sooner you can start working on your team.”

United beat Scottish top club Rangers FC 2-0 in a friendly match on Saturday. Yoro has already played against the Scots, Zirkzee will only join later after his participation in the European Championship with the Dutch national team.
