CASTIONS DI STRADA, ITALY — Callum Pilgrim literally touched everyone on Saturday.

The talented outfielder from Abbotsford, BC, hit a walk-off grand slam in the 11th inning to give Canada an 11-7 victory over the Netherlands in the bronze medal final at the 2024 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup.

Catcher Natalie Wideman of Mississauga, Ontario, sparked a comeback for Canada in the sixth inning with a home run to make it 5-5.

The teams scored runs in the eighth and tenth innings, setting the stage for Pilgrim’s 11th-inning heroics.

Canada has three walk-off victories at this year’s World Cup.

Canada lost 7-2 to Japan in the semi-final on Friday.
