MATTEO BERRETTINI VS QUENTIN HALYS PREDICTION

Matteo Berrettini was in fine form on Saturday as he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 7-5 and is the hot favourite to win the Swiss Open in Gstaad. The entertaining Italian has had a good season now that he is finally back to full fitness and he will be desperate to win a second title in 2024. In the win over Tsitsipas his first serve was excellent at 92% and that was the main difference with Tsitsipas’ serve letting him down. Anything close to that and Berrettini will be fully expecting to claim glory.

He will face Frenchman Quentin Halys on the Roy Emerson Arena and Halys will be motivated to pull off the upset. He hit 16 aces in his semi-final against Jan-Lennard Struff and he will really need to do something similar to have a chance of winning here. Halys’ return game will probably not be good enough to create enough chances to break, unlike Berrettini’s return game, and that will probably be the difference. A straight sets win for Berrettini is the game here.
