The illustrious winner of the EuroSkills 2023 biennial competition in Gdańsk, Poland, Chef Celine Maier, took home gold for her extraordinary creativity in reinventing traditional Swiss culinary dishes. Swiss cuisine is the hallmark of fine dining, with its secrets and complexities. To bend the established structure of these specific European recipes and still produce the same solid essence with stylized dishes, requires a keen skill and understanding.

Chef Maier uses innovative practices and techniques to create intricate and stunning Swiss dishes that are tailored to the modern palate, while remaining rooted in her country’s culinary traditions. Her creations are artistically calculated dishes, almost designer in their appeal, and representative of her meticulous attention to detail. The plating style is characterized by bold colors reminiscent of Switzerland’s vibrant landscapes, prime cuts of meat glazed with rich sauces, and organic produce of exceptional quality. Fueled by her principles of joy and passion, Chef Maier’s mastery shines in the eclectic and often abstract arrangements in her plating, preceded only by the precise flavor profiles that define her cooking.
