Cal NIL collective places football advertising boards in ACC country

For those of you who are not familiar with the Collective of Californian legends, They have worked hard to raise NIL (name, image and likeness) funds to ensure that our student-athletes have the resources they need to feel like they are being taken care of at Berkeley. That led to both Cal football and men’s basketball placing in the top 20 classes in the transfer portal, as the Bears rebuild their roster to hopefully compete at the highest level in the ACC.

(This is of course your monthly reminder to donate to Cal NIL!)

In addition to the general donation drives during the portal period, there are also other events organized by the Collective to raise NIL money with top Cal alumni, including:

And now Cal Legends has reportedly moved into the brand marketing side of things, freeing up money for billboards in ACC land (this billboard below is in Charlotte, North Carolina—Cal will play in home state at Wake Forest on November 8Sources confirm that multiple billboards have already been installed or are in the works in other major East Coast ACC markets.

It may seem odd to do this kind of marketing on the coast, but Cal has large alumni groups on the East Coast that have rarely been touched. Outreach to Cal alumni has been marginal at best over the past few decades, so one of the most important ways to increase brand awareness is to try to activate those groups and let them know that the Bears are coming east regularly.

All hands on deck must be on deck for the Golden Bears in the coming years, because the situation surrounding the ACC is constantly changing.
