Arsenal linked with surprise €40m move for Bayern Munich star

The Gunners have been attracted by Sane’s pace, creativity and Premier League experience and see him as a valuable addition to their attacking line.

Despite Bayern Munich’s desire to keep hold of the 28-year-old Germany international, Sane’s contract situation makes him an attractive target. With his contract expiring in 2025, the winger is entering the final year of his current deal, potentially forcing Bayern to consider offers to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

According to reports out of Germany, Bayern Munich are willing to negotiate a transfer if Arsenal make an offer of more than £40 million (€47.6 million). While they are not actively pursuing Sane, the German giants are reportedly open to raising funds through player sales, having already spent €145 million on new players this summer.

Sane, who previously played for Manchester City, is not actively looking to leave Bayern Munich. However, the prospect of a lucrative contract and a reunion with Mikel Arteta, his former manager at Manchester City, could tempt him back to the Premier League.

Arsenal’s interest in Sane is seen as a contingency plan in case their pursuit of Athletic Club’s Nico Williams fails. The Gunners are reportedly reluctant to pay Williams’ high asking price, opening the door to a potential move for Sane.

The connection between Sane and Arteta, who worked together at Manchester City, could be a key factor in convincing the winger to join Arsenal. Sane has spoken highly of Arteta’s coaching, stating that he helped him improve his game during their time together. Additionally, Sane’s familiarity with Kai Havertz, his Germany national teammate and a recent Arsenal signing, could further ease his integration into the squad.

While Arsenal’s primary focus is on landing Nico Williams, the potential acquisition of Leroy Sane presents an exciting alternative. Sane’s proven track record in the Premier League and familiarity with Arteta’s coaching style make him an attractive prospect for the Gunners.

However, the financial implications of the deal and competition from other clubs could pose a challenge in securing his signature.
