IIHMR University bids farewell

Jaipur, 20e July 2024: IIHMR University, a leading health management research university in India, on July 20esuccessfully concluded its annual convocation at its pristine campus in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The momentous occasion marked a milestone in the lives of 334 students who received their well-earned degrees.

With their eyes fixed on the stage, the students waited with great anticipation for the presentation of their much-awaited degrees by the Guest of Honour Ms Swati Dalal, Managing Director, Abbott India Ltd. and the Guest of Honour Dr Mahnaz Vahedi, Scientist, Research Capacity Strengthening TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases World Health Organisation, Geneva, Switzerland. The flagship event was also graced by Shri Sudarshan Jain, Chairman, IIHMR University and Dr P R Sodani, President, IIHMR University.

The historic ceremony witnessed the conferring of degrees on the graduating cohorts of Ph.D. and MBA programs in Hospital & Health Management, Pharmaceutical Management and Development Management. A total of 8 students of Ph.D., 208 students of MBA (Hospital & Health Management), 105 of MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) and 13 students of MBA (Development Management) were honored with degrees.

Dr. P. R. Sodani, President of IIHMR University, delivered a welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the university. He said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students. It is a great pleasure for IIHMR to recognize your hard work. We are also proud to announce that IIHMR has completed 40 years. At the university, we strongly believe in the principle of growing together. Therefore, our university has consistently provided assistance and expertise to ensure the well-being of our community by collaborating with government and international entities at various levels. In 2023-24, we have also established the School of Digital Health in line with the current and future market requirements. Therefore, I am confident that IIHMR University will transform the healthcare ecosystem both nationally and internationally. I advise the future leaders present here to uphold the values ​​of integrity, compassion and excellence.”

Inspiring students with her words of wisdom, Ms. Swati Dalal, Managing Director, Abbott India Ltd. shared, “This respected institution has a very rich legacy of excellence in healthcare management and research. I congratulate you all on your graduation. Be proud of your achievement as it not only represents your personal growth but also your commitment to shaping the future of healthcare in India. As you enter the professional world, remember that the knowledge you have acquired here will form the solid foundation to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. You represent the most tech-savvy generation that can seamlessly integrate technology into your lives and you will truly harness this power and take healthcare forward.”

Addressing the degree holders, Dr. Mahnaz Vahedi, a scientist at Research Capacity Strengthening TDR, the World Health Organization’s Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases in Geneva, Switzerland, said, “It is an incredible honor to stand before such exceptional achievers. I congratulate you for your countless hours of dedication and hard work. You have all overcome challenges on your journey and today you stand as victors.” She further advised the students, “Embrace lifelong learning to stay relevant in the ever-changing marketplace. Take on leadership roles with responsibility. And most importantly, be kind and humble. Tomorrow’s problems will require innovation and creativity. Finally, remember that the relationships you build will be integral to your success.”

Expressing his joy, Shri Sudarshan Jain, President, IIHMR University, said, “It is indeed a pleasure to be here today. You are blessed to come from a leading institute in healthcare to the real world in India and to make a difference. It is going to be the most exciting field of this century. The healthcare sector is going to be challenging. And two important qualities that are needed are a growth mindset and a capacity to learn. I wish you all the best.”

After the culmination of two fruitful years, IIHMR University celebrated 8 top performers with the prestigious Gold and Silver Medals of “Shri VP Agarwal”. The Gold Medals were received by Himanshi Pandey (Hospital Management), Archita Srivastava (Health Management), Pande Tansushree Abhay (Pharmaceutical Management) and Krishna Rathore (Development Management). Silver Medals were awarded to Shwetangi Kumar Jhakhmola (Hospital Management), Kanika Mathur (Health Management), Shriyani Roy (Pharmaceutical Management) and Bambale Anand Ratan (Development Management).

IIHMR University has achieved exceptional performance in this year’s placement season with the highest package offered of 35.62 LPA and the average package of 8 LPA. Despite the challenging market conditions, the university has achieved 90% placements in multiple roles across various organizations both nationally and internationally with remarkable packages. Remarkably, the total number of recruiters has increased to 60+, which demonstrates IIHMR University’s strong industry networks and commitment to providing an environment of academic excellence.
