FIRST LOOK AT NEW BBC THREE FACTUAL DRAMA

The BBC has released the first image of Nadia Parkes as Chloe Ayling in new six-part drama Kidnapped, which follows the true story of Chloe’s 2017 kidnapping in Italy, where she travelled for a photoshoot.

Kidnapped is written by Georgia Lester (Killing Eve, Skins) and produced by River Pictures in partnership with ZDFneo. The film is based on detailed research, extensive interviews, documented court cases and Chloe’s own book Kidnapped.

For the first time, Chloe’s personal story is told in full, looking behind the headlines to illuminate the emotional truth.

The series follows her terrifying kidnapping, her courage and resilience in captivity, and the subsequent trial that landed her captors in jail. But despite their convictions, Chloe found herself in headlines accusing her of staging her own kidnapping, and at the center of a media storm.

Kidnapped asks why Chloe was blamed for the crimes of her kidnappers. How do we relate to survivors of front-page crimes? And what does it feel like to be an ordinary person caught up in events so extraordinary that they defy belief?

In addition to Nadia, the series also stars Adrian Edmondson (Rain Dogs, A Spy Among Friends), Nigel Lindsay (The Capture, The Salisbury Poisonings), Olive Gray (Halo, Rose), Eleonora Romandini (The White Lotus, Il Nostro Generale), Julian Swiezewski (The Passing Bells, Krucjata) and Christine Tremarco (The Responder, Casualty).

Kidnapped is a 6×30′ River Pictures production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in association with ZDFneo.
