Manchester United prepare bid to sign Nigerian and Arsenal star who scored 10 goals in 1 game

  • Although he has played for Denmark and England at youth level, Obi-Martin is still eligible to play for Nigeria at senior level

English Premier League club Manchester United are doing everything they can to add Chido Obi-Martin to their first youth academy.

The 16-year-old Arsenal player, who rose rapidly through the youth ranks, is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford.

Obi-Martin has impressed recently with 10 goals in one game against Liverpool U16.

In November 2023, Mikel Arteta invited him to train with Arsenal’s first team.

According to other sources, the prodigy has represented Denmark at U17 level, scoring 11 goals.

He also played twice for England U16 and his family tradition also allows him to play for Nigeria in the top national team.

In total, Chido Obi-Martin scored 29 goals in 17 league games for the under-18s last season.

Manchester United have a rich history of developing talent in England, with Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho being prime examples.

The New York Times has since reported that United are exploring a deal to sign Obi-Martin after he decided to leave Arsenal.

Chelsea announce arrival of Landon Emenalo

Meanwhile, Chelsea have announced the recruitment of new academy students for the 2024/25 football season.

Landon Emenalo, the son of former Super Eagles defender Michael Emenalo, has officially joined the Stamford Bridge club.

His father, Michael Emenalo, worked as technical director at the London club between 2011 and 2017.

Chelsea end Omorodion’s pursuit

Legitim.ng It was previously reported that Chelsea have rejected multiple bids for Samu Omorodion by Atletico Madrid.

The Rojiblancos are keeping it at a minimum of £70m to part with the 20-year-old. The highest bid the Premier League club has ever made is £42m, including add-ons.

The player’s stance and the club’s insistence have forced Todd Boehly’s club to withdraw from the pursuit of Omorodion.
