Jesper Lindstrom nears Everton signing

Everton are reportedly close to signing 24-year-old attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli.

According to a report from Italian outlet Calcio Napoli 24, 24-year-old Napoli striker Jesper Lindstrom will join Premier League club Everton on loan with an option to buy.

The attacking midfielder had a disappointing season with the Italian club last season, picking up just one assist in 32 appearances in all competitions. He was also not a regular starter for them. The Denmark international needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and a move to Everton would be ideal for him.

The Premier League club have targeted Lindstrom due to their need for more creativity and an edge in the final third, and the 24-year-old should prove to be a useful addition. He is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder and as a winger. It will be interesting to see if he can make his mark in the Premier League and establish himself as a key player for Everton.

The Toffees have been fighting relegation in recent seasons and a club of their stature would be expected to do better. It will be interesting to see if they can challenge for a mid-table or top-half finish in the coming campaign. Everton will need to improve their squad to do well.

Lindstrom could improve Everton

The 24-year-old Danish international has shown his qualities in the Bundesliga in the past and there is no doubt that he has the technical ability to succeed in the Premier League. He will need to regain his form and confidence in the coming months. Regular football in England could do wonders for the player.

If Everton can get the best out of him and sign him for a reasonable fee next summer, the deal could look like a wise investment. Everton looked toothless in the recently concluded campaign and they will need to improve in that area.

Signing an attacking midfielder would be a step in the right direction, with Napoli hoping he can impress in the Premier League and secure a permanent move away from the Serie A club next summer.
