Driving license exam scam in Sassari

Micro earpiece in the ear, mini camera in the shape of a shirt button: This is the equipment used by five novice drivers, together with a prompter operating from outside, discovered by the traffic police at the Civil Motorization of Sassari. With this trick they tried to pass the theoretical driving test.

The first to be discovered and reported was a twenty-four-year-old, on June 21st last year. The officers intervened during the theory test. The young man was given the correct answers by the prompter with the help of a micro earpiece in his ear, who, with the help of a “Button-shaped” micro camera on his shirt, He framed the screen with the questions being examined and gave the boy the correct answers.

The police, who intervened immediately after the incident conducted a search for the accomplice in the surrounding streets and tracked down a seventy-four-year-old who was waiting in his car to get back the electronic equipment the young man used at the end of the exam.

During the search of the vehicle, other mobile phones, SIM cards, numerous micro earphones and micro cameras, adhesive tape and Several shirts were found, of the same type as the shirt the boy was wearing.

A similar incident occurred on July 8, involving four non-EU citizens. In this case, it appears that the accomplice has not been identified.

The investigation is still ongoing.
