SBK 2024. Czech GP. A Most Superpole and record for Razgatioglu – Superbike – Moto.it

With the new fastest lap of Most Toprak Iannone and Alex Lowes ahead. Second row for Bulega and Petrucci, third for Bautista and Locatelli. Rinaldi tenth, Bassani eighteenth bad

July 20, 2024

Like a broken record, Toprak Razgatlioglu repeats the same song, but it is a beautiful melody for him and for BMW, who celebrate today in Most the fourth Superpole of the season and the sixteenth in the career of the Turkish talent. To top it all off, we can add a fastest lap by Toprak (1’30”064) that wipes out the previous one, which he himself had set last season.

The Turkish BMW rider improved his time three times and on the second occasion he dragged along a wily Andrea Iannone, who was able to follow him well and in return took second overall position. Third place and the front row for Alex Lowes and his Kawasaki, a result that can no longer be called surprising, given the consistent performances of the English rider.

With the fourth fastest time, Nicolò Bulega takes the second row of the grid and will start alongside the inconsistent Remy Gardner and the generous Danilo Petrucci, who particularly likes this circuit where he was on the podium twice last year.

The seventh position and the subsequent third row could be a problem in the race for Alvaro Bautista, who is forced to start quickly in order not to lose the train of leaders, on a track where there are not many points to be won. Together with him start a fast Garrett Gerloff and Andrea Locatelli. Behind him another Italian: Michael Ruben Rinaldi. After the hardships he endured yesterday, the Team Motocorsa rider takes a tenth position that is good for the rest of the weekend. The fourth row is completed by Scott Redding who, at least so far, does not seem to be able to repeat the positive weekend of Donington, and by Sam Lowes.

Jonathan Rea had to settle for the fifth row and fifteenth place. His Superpole started badly, with a crash on his first lap. After a pit stop, the six-time world champion returned to the track, but he did not find the winning spark, and he was also preceded by the two official Hondas of Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, thirteenth and fourteenth respectively.

The sixth row is that of the disappointed and is opened by Michael Van der Mark, who crashed a few seconds before Rea, by Dominique Aegerter and by Axel Bassani, who simply cannot accept the Superpole.
