Firefighters are battling a forest fire that broke out in the southwestern Peloponnese in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to the fire brigade, the fire in the Metamorfosi area of ​​Pylos Nestoros municipality in Messinia does not pose a threat to the nearby settlement.

A contingent of 55 firefighters, 19 vehicles, four aircraft and two helicopters are on site.
