International gold medalist runs for children’s causes – HERALD EXPRESS

ITOGON, Benguet – Medal-winning police athlete, Police Chief Miguelito Carranza, is set to win two prestigious mountain trail races in August (in Italy) and September (in Switzerland) for two very relevant causes.

Under the name “Mission 315: Running with a Purpose,” Carranza, together with The Aduyon Project, aims to raise funds for young students with special needs enrolled in Itogon Central School and for children in need of long-term medical care under the care of Hands of God Charity.

Carranza, a gold medalist at the World Police and Fire Games, will compete in the 145km Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie (TDS) and the 170km Ultra Trail Monte Rosa (UTMR) – a total of 315km (hence the name of the mission).

Aduyon and Carranza invite people with hearts of gold to donate P500 for every kilometer of the 315 km race. For more information, visit the Aduyon Project Facebook page.

Apex Mining and Itogon-Suyoc Resources are also backing Carranza in this race.
