Dagenham & Redbridge vs West Ham: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

West Ham United continue their preparations for the 2024/25 season with a friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge this Saturday.

New manager Julen Lopetegui took charge of his first game as Hammers boss on Monday, leading his team against Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros in Austria. Despite being two goals down, the Irons earned a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Danny Ings and Nayef Aguerd.

West Ham play National League club Dagenham & Redbridge this weekend at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, the venue where West Ham Women play their home games.

Here is 90 minutes preview of the match on Saturday afternoon.

Dagenham & Redbridge have already played each other twice in pre-season, so they should be sharp for the visit of West Ham. However, a 5-3 defeat and a goalless draw do not inspire much confidence.

The Daggers have already signed a number of summer players, including Paul Kalambayi, Christian N’Guessan and Trent Rendall, and it is likely that they will feature in the squad at some point.

Dagenham & Redbridge predicted line-up against West Ham (4-3-3): Justham; Rutherford, Kalambayi, Eastman, Lawless; N’Guessan, Rees, Hessenthaler; Remy, Day, Pereira.

Jarrod Bowen

Lopetegui is without six players who are still recovering from this summer’s international tournaments. Jarrod Bowen, Alphonse Areola, Michail Antonio, Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal are all unavailable.

Summer signings Max Kilman, Wes Foderingham and Luis Guilherme all played against Ferencvaros and should get more playing time on Saturday.

West Ham predicted line-up against Dagenham & Redbridge (4-3-3): Foderingham; Marshall, Zouma, Kilman, Emerson; Earthy, Ward-Prowse, Potts; Guilherme, Ings, Cornet.

Friendlies often produce goals and you would think this would be the case. West Ham have most of their starters fit and available, allowing them to deliver the coup de grace to fifth-tier Dagenham and Redbridge.

Even if Lopetegui opts for a youthful line-up, the Hammers should have more than enough quality to beat the Daggers.

Prediction: Dagenham & Redbridge 0-5 West Ham
