Chelsea have recalled Lesley Ugochukwu from the French Olympic squad.

The midfielder was on the host country’s reserve list, but has now returned to London.

It is believed the decision has already been made as Chelsea are keen to loan the midfielder out for the new season.

The French Football Federation announced: “Lesley Ugochukwu leaves the Olympic selection. The midfielder will leave the French Olympic team on Friday, July 19 and will not be among the reserves for the Paris 2024 Olympic tournament.

“At the request of Chelsea FC, Lesley Ugochukwu will definitively leave the French Olympic football team and will no longer be available as a reserve.”
