Manchester United are said to be in advanced talks to sign Joshua Zirkzee this summer.

The Red Devils are keen to close a deal to bring the Dutchman to Old Trafford.

Journalist Ben Jacobs admits that talks are progressing, but that Euro 2024 is delaying the deal.

He stated, according to the Manchester Evening News: “The European Championship has slowed things down a bit, but it has actually been to Manchester United’s advantage. If Zirkzee had not been called up for the Dutch national team, Milan might have been able to finish it off.

“His participation in the European Championship actually gave Manchester United an opportunity. They are now in advanced talks and these talks are all being conducted from the player’s side. Milan have already indicated that they are prepared to pay the €40 million buyout fee to Bologna and Manchester United would do the same.

“That is seen as fantastic value and it is highly unlikely that either club will try to negotiate on that.”
