Exolaunch announces contract with Spain's Sateliot for launch and deployment services

Exolaunch has announced a new launch and deployment services agreement with Satelliot, the first company to operate a 5G NB-IoT low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, based in Barcelona, Spain and San Diego, California, which marks the first collaboration between the two companies.

Satelliot stands out as the pioneering provider of LEO satellite connectivity operating within the 3GPP Standard framework, a benchmark set by leading technology giants including Apple, Sony and Samsung, among others. Leveraging this standard, Satelliot is a pioneer in facilitating connectivity for all current narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) devices via satellite through its constellation. This breakthrough enables Satelliot to offer services at comparable costs to terrestrial mobile networks, a significant step towards widespread IoT adoption in previously inaccessible regions.

Satelliot is building a constellation of 250 unique satellites that enable 5G NB-IoT connectivity from space, revolutionizing connectivity solutions worldwide. Under the terms of this agreement, Satelliot will deploy four additional satellites to join its growing 5G IoT constellation, leveraging Exolaunch’s industry-leading services and hardware.

Satelliot’s four 6U satellites, named Sateliot_1, Sateliot_2, Sateliot_3 and Sateliot_4, will be manifested via Exolaunch on the Transporter-11 Rideshare mission with SpaceX, expected to launch in mid-2024. Satelliot will benefit from Exolaunch’s renowned mission management services and integration support, and will utilize Exolaunch’s innovative and flight-proven container-satellite separation system, the EXOpod Nova, for the deployment of its satellites.

“The partnership with Exolaunch marks an important milestone for Satelliot as we continue our mission to revolutionize 5G IoT connectivity from space. With Exolaunch’s expertise and industry-leading services, we are confident of the successful launch and deployment of our next four satellites, delivering on our vision of ubiquitous IoT connectivity,” said Jaume Sanpera, CEO at Satelliot.

“We are excited to welcome Satelliot as our newest customer and partner,” said Pablo Lobo, mission manager at Exolaunch. “This agreement underlines Exolaunch’s commitment to facilitating the growth and success of innovative European companies like Satelliot. Exolaunch is proud to deliver our industry-leading services and technology to support Satelliot’s vision of advancing 5G IoT connectivity from space.
