Wolf Express | Doyle talks Euro glory as Portugal makes winning start | Club | News

The latest episode of the Wolves Express podcast is now available and features an in-depth chat with midfielder Tommy Doyle.

Doyle became Wolves’ first signing in the summer of 2024 when he announced his move from Manchester City to Molineux would become automatic permanent on July 1, before being followed by Portuguese midfielder Rodrigo Gomes last week.

But in the latest episode of Wolves’ fast-paced podcast, Doyle discusses what he was up to 12 months ago when he helped England win the Under-21 European Championship title in Georgia.

The midfielder talks about what it was like to miss much of the competition through an injury that also delayed his introduction to the Wolves team, but what it meant to him to lift the trophy after playing in the final had come when the Three Lions won Spain.

With the Senior European Championship in full swing, listeners can hear how Portugal’s Old Gold trio fared against the Czech Republic last night, while also getting a look at Wolves’ Premier League fixtures, which were announced on Tuesday morning.

Finally, the podcast is a tribute to former goalkeeper Matija Sarkic, who passed away on Saturday at the age of just 26. The Montenegrin spent three seasons at Wolves as he developed from youth goalkeeper to senior-ready stopper, before joining Millwall last summer.

Throughout the summer, Wolves Express will continue to be packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews from both the playing and non-playing sides of the club.
