Punjab is keen to promote trade ties with Spain, CM tells envoy

Mr. Jalal Salahuddin to discuss opportunities for promoting bilateral ties between Punjab and Spain in the areas of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism.

She added, “Foreign investors will get the best environment for safe investment in Punjab.” Madam Prime Minister said, “The trend of increasing trade volume between Pakistan and Spain is welcome. “The meeting also discussed investment opportunities in infrastructure and renewable energy. The meeting also emphasized the need to increase joint efforts to strengthen mutual relations.

The Spanish Ambassador expressed keen interest in promoting a strong economic partnership with Punjab.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and other relevant officials were also present.

Separately, Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in a road accident in Sheikhupura. She expressed her sincere sympathy and condolences to the relatives.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to ensure compliance of fixed transportation rates in view of the return of passengers at the height of the Eid holidays.

The Chief Minister ordered crackdown on those involved in receiving extra fares from the passengers in Lahore and other cities in the province. She directed to ensure that the extra fares received from the passengers are refunded in case of overcharging and imposed a fine on the bus staff. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “The fitness of vehicles should be checked and vehicles requiring repair work should not be allowed to ply on the road under any circumstances as it may result in endangering the lives of passengers.” She added: “Overloading in the vehicles should not be allowed on any route.” She directed to ensure full compliance with traffic rules.

The Chief Minister has also announced that he will give the staff a monthly salary as a reward for performing their duties during a three-day special cleaning drive. While conveying her message to the entire team involved in the Eid beauty drive, the Chief Minister said, “Well done team Punjab”. The Chief Minister added, “The entire team, by rendering exemplary service to the people, has written a new history of Punjab. The way you have served the people is commendable and also a symbol of pride.” CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to all the municipal institutions, waste management companies, LWMC, the relevant officials and the staff members for displaying a commendable performance on the eve of the Eid beauty drive. She also expressed her gratitude to the elected representatives, the media and the people who supported the institutions and made this campaign a success. Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif along with Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz and other members of Sharif family offered Eidul Azha prayers in Jati Umrah.

After the Eid prayers, they prayed for the safety, security and development of Pakistan, besides the socio-economic progress and prosperity of the countrymen. Special prayers were also offered for the oppressed Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir.

PML-N supremo Muhammad Nawaz Sharif exchanged Eid greetings with his family members and workers.
