This Morning star Dr. Michael Mosley missing on Greek island

A search and rescue operation has been launched after TV doctor Michael Mosley went missing while on holiday on the Greek island of Symi.

Mosley is known for his appearances on television programs such as This Morning and The One Show and is said to have not returned from a walking tour on Wednesday.

In a local Facebook group, a call read: “Have you seen this man? He left about 1:30 PM to walk back from St. Nick’s but failed to make it home. His friends are worried because it has been six hours since they last saw him.

“His name is Dr. Mike Mosley and he is a familiar face to many Britons.”

The post shared an image of Dr. Mosley, wearing a blue cap, blue shirt and shorts, added that a search and rescue team from Athens was present.

One user on a local forum said that Dr. Mosley “had left his phone at his accommodation”.

“Nowadays it should be quite difficult to get lost on Symi because so many paths are paved and there is a lot more activity even in the most remote areas,” she added.

According to the MailOnlinehis wife Dr Clare Bailey, 62, raised the alarm after he failed to return after going for a walk at 7.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Temperatures on the island, which lies off the coast of Rhodes in the Dodecanese archipelago, reached the mid-30s and remained hot at night.

The 67-year-old is credited with the rise in popularity of the 5:2 diet for weight loss, which involves fasting two days a week, and he also presents the Just One thing podcast for the BBC.

He also did the Channel 4 show Michael Mosley: Who Made Britain Fat? and was part of the BBC series Trust Me, I’m A Doctor.

He lived with tapeworms in his intestines for six weeks for the documentary Infested! Living with parasites on BBC Four.

Dr. Mosley has received an Emmy nod for the BBC science documentary The Human Face, presented by John Cleese and featuring a host of human faces including Elizabeth Hurley, Pierce Brosnan and David Attenborough.

He has three children with his wife, who is also a doctor, author and health columnist.

The couple, who have organized theater tours together, recently attended the Hay Festival where Dr. Mosley presented a special edition of his Radio 4 series and podcast Just One Thing.
